ARIS APS Reader (OPS output) for ArcGIS

The APS Reader adds native support (direct read) for APS rasters (output from the OPS model like .aps, .plt, .grd) to ArcMap and ArcCatalog, automatically stretching between MIN and MAX values in the raster.

The National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM) and the Netherlands Environmental Assessment Agency (PBL) own the OPS model and provide it for calculations to other organisations, especially in the Netherlands. The output of the OPS model is a specific ASCII grid with multiple grids in one file: APS Grid.

ARIS has a solution to use APS rasters directly in ArcMap and ArcCatalog. All the usual raster operations in ArcMap (for example the Spatial Analyst tools in ArcToolbox) can be applied to the APS raster.

APS Reader: Direct read in ArcMap

The APS Reader supports the following APS features:

  • Non-square cells
  • Multiple rasters in one file
  • Projections stored in the APS file
  • Cell values for integer rasters are represented as 32-bit Integer values, floating-point rasters as 32-bit Single values.

The APS Reader calculates automatically MIN and MAX values (statistics) in order to display the grid by default in graytones in the applicable range.
